The Whitsun Gallop

No sooner had the racehorses passed, than new sensations rippled through the crowd – disbelief and fury. Then confusion, as whispered words were distorted, and each person along the line of spectators heard a different version of the truth.
“The gilded cup has gone! Vanished!”

On the day of the Whitsun Gallop, the people of Romney Marsh gather. It is a day to parade in their best outfits, make merry, and wager on which gentleman jockey will glory. When the prize cup is stolen under the eyes of local dignitaries, a chain of events is set in place, rocking the secure world of Harry and Phoebe Farrers.
